Jaipur 12 November 2022: Lok Sabha Speaker Shri Om Birla addressed the National Convention and Convocation ceremony of the National Academy of Medical Sciences (NAMS) during his one-day visit to Jaipur today.
Speaking on the occasion, Shri Birla congratulated all members, office bearers and doctors associated with the Academy. Referring to its long history, Shri Birla said that NAMS is India's premier institute for promoting research and innovation in the field of medicine and has many highly experienced and trained doctors among its members. Shri Birla congratulated all the doctors who received fellowships and Membership in the Convocation ceremony.
Appreciating the work of the academy, Shri Birla said that this institute has encouraged innovative techniques, research and new and effective methods in the field of medicine and has done a remarkable job of developing empathy and spirit of service among doctors.
With reference to the intellectual strength and the hard work of Indian youth, Shri Birla said that Indian doctors are some of the world's most skilled and qualified professionals who are providing treatment in the some of the world's most renowned medical institutions and are at the forefront of new innovations in the medical field. He added that Indian doctors are known for their efficiency as well as service and dedication.
Referring to India's growing stature in the field of medical tourism in the world, Shri Birla said that Indian medical and healthcare system is providing affordable and accessible treatment to people across the world. Taking forward its rich heritage in traditional medicine, India has made great strides in the field of allopathic medicine and surgery.
Shri Birla urged the National Academy of Medical Sciences and other premier institutes to conduct effective research towards developing advanced medical facilities in remote rural areas of India. Emphasizing on the need for effective communication between public representatives and doctors, Shri Birla said that institutions like NAMS should give necessary inputs to the public representatives on the direction of getting quality medical services in the villages of the country.
