New Delhi 25 January 2023: Lok Sabha Speaker Shri Om Birla has greeted the nation on the eve of Republic Day. In his message, Shri Birla said:

'Heartfelt best wishes to everyone on the auspicious occasion of the Republic Day.

Republic is not just a word for us, rather it is synonymous with our sovereign nation. It is the foundation of our nation.

On this day, let us remember the great men and women who played crucial role in our independence and contributed tirelessly towards the making of the Constitution.

Today, the modern Indian Republic has completed more than 7 decades. Over the decades, our Constitution has made our Republic stronger and prosperous.

The innovative thinking of our youth and our women have contributed a lot to our progress. Through their energy and talent, India is today known as the startup and Unicorn capital of the world. From education to defense and from sports to space, today women are making rapid strides in every field.

Our farmers, laborers, MSME sector, small and large traders and every citizen is a partner in the progress of the nation. With the spirit of Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas, we are firmly moving forward on the path of self-reliance and progress.

The result of our collective efforts is that today India has become the 5th largest economy in the world. Today we have a strong voice on the world fora. With the motto of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam, we are leading the G-20 this year.

Today, on this occasion, every citizen must resolve to increase their participation in the democratic process, and to further strengthen the ideals of liberty, equality, justice and fraternity inherent in our republic; so that our democracy becomes stronger.
