PARLIAMENTARIANS PAY FLORAL TRIBUTES TO LOKMANYA BAL GANGADHAR TILAK

New Delhi, 23 July, 2022: Lok Sabha Speaker Shri Om Birla paid floral tributes at the portrait of Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak in the Central Hall of Parliament House on his Birth Anniversary, today.

Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution and Textiles, Shri  Piyush Goel; Minister of State for External Affairs and Parliamentary Affairs, Shri V. Muraleedharan and Deputy Chairman, Rajya Sabha  Shri Harivansh paid floral tributes to Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak. Member of Parliament, former Member of Parliament and other dignitaries also paid tributes.

Secretary-General, Lok Sabha, Shri Utpal Kumar Singh and Secretary-General, Rajya Sabha, Shri P. C. Mody also paid floral tributes.

The portrait of Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak was unveiled in the Central Hall of Parliament House on 28 July 1956 by the then Prime Minister of India, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, in recognition of his outstanding services to the nation.
