New Delhi; 20 February, 2021:  Lok Sabha Speaker Shri Om Birla paid rich tributes to Shaheed Lieutenant Gautam Gurung at his statue at GRD crossing in Gorakhpur. On his way to Basti Mahatosava to participate in the event as Chief Guest, Shri Birla stopped at GRD crossing to offer his tributes to the Kargil hero. Remembering his valour during the Kargil war, Lok Sabha Speaker said that the sacrifice, courage and bravery of Shaheed Lieutenant Gautam Gurung shall always be remembered and he will be an inspiration for all of us. The Speaker also appreciated the initiative of the martyr’s  family for providing training to the youth and for instilling a sense of duty and patriotism among them.

Former Union Minister Shri Radha Mohan Singh; Members of Parliament Shri Jagadambika Pal, Shri Ravi Kishan, Shri Harish Dwivedi and Shri Pankaj Chaudhury  also paid tributes to Shaheed Lieutenant Gautam Gurung.

Earlier, Shri Birla visited Gorakhdham peeth and sought blessings of Baba Gorakhnath for prosperity and peace in the society. Baba Gorakhnath, through his wisdom, compassion and spiritual might, spread the message of inner divinity and transformed lives of many, Shri Birla said. Lok Sabha Speaker also said that spiritual order established by Baba Gorakhnath and the spiritual path shown by him shall continue to guide all of us towards inner peace, away from materialism.
