New Delhi, 8 September 2020: Lok Sabha Speaker Shri Om Birla released a report titled ‘Indian Parliamentarians join hands to eliminate viral hepatitis’ of Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences (ILBS) in Parliament House today.
Releasing the report, Shri Birla said that there is a need to start a movement to spread awareness about liver, so that this message percolates even to the last man in the public. Shri Birla observed that Parliament represents the collective will of 130 crore people of our country and parliamentarians can play an effective role in widening the reach of this movement. He congratulated the ILBS for its outstanding efforts and hoped that it would be successful in its endeavour of eradication of liver diseases in the country.
Earlier on the occasion of the World Hepatitis Day, an event ‘Empathy Conclave 2020’ was organised by the ILBS in Parliament House on 28 July 2020, which was attended through video conferencing, by many Members of Parliament, physicians and other dignitaries.
