PARLIAMENTARIANS PAY TRIBUTES TO PANDIT JAWAHARLAL NEHRU
New Delhi, 14 November 2019: Lok Sabha Speaker Shri Om Birla; Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, Coal and Mines Shri Prahlad Joshi; Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Culture and Tourism Shri Prahalad Singh Patel; former Deputy Prime Minister Shri L.K. Advani; Chairperson, Departmentally Related Parliamentary Standing Committee on Human Resource Development (Rajya Sabha) Dr. Satyanarayan Jatiya; Members of Parliament and former Members of Parliament paid floral tributes at the portrait of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru in the Central Hall of Parliament House on his birth anniversary today. The Secretaries-General of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, Smt. Snehlata Shrivastava and Shri Desh Deepak Verma, respectively also paid floral tributes. A booklet containing the profile of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, brought out in Hindi and English by the Lok Sabha Secretariat, was presented to the dignitaries. The portrait of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru was unveiled by the then President of India, Dr. S. Radhakrishnan, in the Central Hall of Parliament House on 5 May 1966.
