PARLIAMENTARIANS PAY TRIBUTES TO SARDAR VALLABHBHAI PATEL
New Delhi, 31 October 2017: Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi; Lok Sabha Speaker Smt. Sumitra Mahajan; Union Minister of Home Affairs Shri Raj Nath Singh; Union Minister of Finance and Corporate Affairs Shri Arun Jaitley; Union Minister of Parliamentary Affairs and Chemicals & Fertilizers Shri Ananth Kumar; former Deputy Prime Minister and Chairperson, Ethics Committee (Lok Sabha) Shri L. K. Advani and Vice President of Indian National Congress Shri Rahul Gandhi paid floral tributes at the portrait of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in Central Hall of Parliament House today on the occasion his Birth anniversary. Among dignitaries who paid tributes to Sardar Patel included Union Ministers, Union Ministers of State, Members of Parliament and former Members of Parliament. The Secretary-General of Lok Sabha, Shri Anoop Mishra and Officers of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha Secretariats also paid floral tributes. A booklet containing the profile of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, brought out in Hindi and English by the Lok Sabha Secretariat, was presented to the dignitaries who attended the function. The portrait of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel was unveiled by the then President of India, Dr. Rajendra Prasad, in the Central Hall of Parliament House on 23 April 1958.
