PARLIAMENTARIANS PAY TRIBUTES TO PANDIT JAWAHARLAL NEHRU New Delhi, 14 November 2017: Lok Sabha Speaker Smt. Sumitra Mahajan led the Parliamentarians in paying floral tributes at the portrait of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru in the Central Hall of Parliament House on his birth anniversary today. Union Minister of Home Affairs, Shri Raj Nath Singh; Union Minister of Finance and Corporate Affairs, Shri Arun Jaitely; Union Minister of Parliamentary Affairs and Chemicals & Fertilizers, Shri Ananth Kumar; Deputy Speaker Lok Sabha, Dr. M. Thambi Durai; Union Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs and Statistics and Programme Implementation, Shri Vijay Goel; Former Deputy Prime Minister and Chairperson, Ethics Committee, Shri L. K. Advani; Members of Parliament; former Members of Parliament and other dignitaries paid tributes to Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. The Secretaries-General of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, Shri Anoop Mishra and Shri Desh Deepak Verma, respectively, and senior Officers of the Lok Sabha Secretariat also paid floral tributes. A booklet containing the profile of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, brought out in Hindi and English by the Lok Sabha Secretariat, was presented to the dignitaries. The portrait of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru was unveiled by the then President of India, Dr. S. Radhakrishnan, in the Central Hall of Parliament House on 5 May 1966.
